SPIC MACAY begins Kendriya Vidyalaya J&K Series

Jammu, Sept 10: SPIC MACAY's Kendriya Vidyalaya series in the state took to a great start with performances at KV1 and KV2 Gandhinagar. Internationally acclaimed Hindustani Vocalist Pt. Ajay Pohankar mesmerised the children who were awestruck with his charisma. Maestro Pandit Ajay Pohankar is one of the living legends of Indian Classical Music. His career spans for more than 6 decades
In the present circuit, all 24 KVs of Jammu region, from Lakhanpur to Rajouri to Kishtwar and Bhaderwah shall be covered. Mr. Bhushan Kumar, Principal KV2 and Incharge Principal KV1 Gandhinagar thanked the artists for making it to J&K. Dr. Sapna K Sangra, State Chairperson SPIC MACAY and Dr. Seema Rohmetra, Coordinator Jammu region were also present on the occasion.
Earlier the SPIC MACAY All India KV Series got inaugurated at KV Delhi Cantt with a Kathak performance by Rajendra Gangani and flute performance by Ronu Majumdar. By March 2019, more than 1100 concerts shall be held in the KVs across the country. SPIC MACAY entered into collaboration with KV Sangathan in 2014. National Curriculum Framework (NCF) also advocates the necessity of going beyond the scholastic pursuits in the interest of overall growth and development of the students.
