| JDF expresses resentment over appointment of IAS officer on NHM post | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 13: Jammu Doctors Forum expressed annoyance, resentment and grief on the behalf of the whole medical fraternity the way the prestigious posts of directors NRHM and Health have been showered on one IAS officer Bhupinder Kumar as if the government couldn't find any suitable person from medical profession to fill the post.
As per press statement issued here, it states that it is a matter of great concern and regret that the director health department post was going to be filled immediately after the retirement of outgoing director Dr Gurjeet Singh after the end of August 2018. It can be considered inefficiency on the part of the government as it could not find any suitable person; and acted only in response to the direction of the court.
It is pertinent to mention here that traditionally these posts have been always occupied by the senior and able members of the medical fraternity. In the past these persons have shown an exemplary performance that still quoted even today.
What an IAS officer knows about the medical profession? It is so vast that even the member of one speciality is not well aware of the functionality of the other one. The integrity, working capacity and capabilities of the mentioned IAS officer are not questioned at all as he comes from other field but it a matter of the insulting attitude towards the medical profession. |
