Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 12: The ongoing indefinite chain hunger strike by Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC) for implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA/RMSA teachers entered into 15th consecutive day today with fresh batch of TJAC volunteers sat for 24-hour fast. Ten members of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, a constituent of Teachers Joint Action Committee, began their fast in support of the demands of implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA/RMSA teachers and de-linking their salary from Central to State Budget. The fasting teachers from Jammu and Rajouri districts who sat on hunger strike included Kuldeep Bandral, Guridev Singh Raj Singh, Narinder Singh Chib, Azaib Singh, Bua Ditta, Haqiqat Singh, Pawan Kumar, Manga Ram, Karan Singh and Shiv Kumar. While addressing the mammoth gathering at venue of the chain hunger strike, the speakers criticized the apathetic attitude of the state government towards the genuine demands of the teaching community. |
