JAMMU, Sept 13: Officers of Superintendent of Customs and Service Tax (CST) and Central Cargo and Service Tax (CCST) protested against the government by putting black bills under the Superintendent Union AIACEGEO banner. Officers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territories, Chandigarh, ribbon banded their symbolic protest by working in the office. Superintendents who have been promoted during the last five years in the department have not been regularized. They are still running adhoc, even though the permanent post is available. The Association of Officers wrote a regulatory memorandum to the higher authorities several times, but the department did not consider any the demand, and clarified its stand. Disturbed by the apathy of the high officials and the wrath of the government and the department, the officers were forced to hold black badge protest. |
