JP World school organizes swimming competition

Jammu, Sept 13: An inter-house swimming competition was held at J.P World School for the senior wing students, in which the students battled out in the pool, displaying the best of their prowess.
The swimmers tried to show off their sporting abilities at their best as they were trying to outstrip each other in their next lanes.
The competition comprised of two events (Freestyle &Relay) and four age categories (under 10, 12, 14&17) for both boys and girls. For Under-10 Category, there was a 25m race, for under -12 and Under-14 category,a 50m race. For Under-17 Category, there was a 50m and 100m race for boys and a 25m race for girls.
In the Freestyle Under -10 Category, Zaheer bagged the first position, whereas Akbar stood second. In under-12 category, Imtiyaz got the first position, while Zeeshan got the second one. In Under -14 Category, Fozil secured the first position, whereas Asif and Sapten secured the second and the third position respectively. In Under-17 Category (50m), Sagar bagged the first position and Hidayat got the second one, while in the 100m race, Shubham got the first position. Neha secured the first place in 25m race among the girls.
In the Relay event, Jhelum House came out as the winner in Under-14 category followed by Chenab House and Tawi House, which got the second and the third place respectively. In Under- 17 category, Chenab House emerged victorious whereas Jhelum House got the second place. The overall winner of the competition was Chenab House.
The competition was organized by Dinesh Thappa, co-ordinated by other faculty members. The Chief guests of the event were Ashok Singh Manhas, Managing Trustee, and J.S Hundal, Principal of the school.
