NPP urges PM to convene urgent NIC meeting on foreign relations, domestic situation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 18: Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party, former Member of National Integration Council & Executive Chairman of State Legal Aid Committee urged Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to convene an urgent meeting of National Integration Council to discuss international affairs that are developing around India and also disturbing situation within the country at the home front. Prof.Bhim Singh urged the Prime Minister that he should revive the National Integration Council which has remained non-existent since Narendra Modi took over as the Prime Minister of India. National Integration Council was instituted by the Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru in 1963 and remained intensively involve at international and domestic affairs. The NIC was a most valuable common platform for all political and social representatives from almost all fields at the national level. Prof.Bhim Singh urged the Prime Minister that he should revive the NIC and involve it to seek independent opinion of all sections of the society from its platform as it has been organised in the past. NPP Supremo said that the NIC platform is much more effective and purposeful than the political sermons by a political party or more. Consensus is the scientific need of the hour in 21st century when the consensus arrived in discussions and debates by the representatives of different schools of thought shall be more effective than the guns, bombs and jails. This is the message of 21st century which need to be honoured in democracy. That is possible only through open discussions and debates from a common platform. National Integration Council shall be an ideal approach. He said that situation in J&K is taking unfortunate shape and the political indication from the Southern States or even from North-East region are not very encouraging towards the national integration. The people of all regions in the country need justice, social security and human rights as enshrined in Chapter-III of the Constitution of India. The clear message should go from National Integration Council that all people in India deserve full human rights, fundamental rights, justice at all levels, social security and all that from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with one constitution, fundamental rights to all and one flag. That message shall be effective if released from platform of National Integration Council under the chairmanship of Prime Minister. |
