INTACH organizes workshop on painting

Jammu, Sept 18: Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) workshop on "Skill Enhancement And Product Development (Calico Printing)" at Centre of Women's Studies, in collaboration with Centre for History and Culture of Jammu and Ladakh Regions, University of Jammu and Department of Handicraft, Govt. of J&K concluded at University of Jammu where the valedictory ceremony was graced by Bindu Manchanda, Director Projects, INTACH New Delhi.
The conference was organized by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Jammu Chapter to promote and enhance the skills of Samba prints (Calico Printing) as a part of intangible heritage of Jammu region.
During her address Bindu Manchanda appreciated the efforts of participants and the INTACH Jammu Chapter for their skill enhancement initiatives in the city of temples. The workshop was attended by twenty participants which included trainers of Handicraft Department, unemployed women folk who have already acquired the knowledge of Calico printing in the training centres of the Handicraft department.
The participants expressed their satisfaction over the overall conduct of the event and desired looking forward to such events in near future.
S.M. Sahni, Convenor, INTACH- Jammu Chapter presented the vote of thanks. Others present on the occasion were Prof Jigar Mohammad, (Dean Reseach Studies), Prof. Anita Billawaria, Mamta Bhagat ( Deputy Director Handicrafts), Prof. D.K, Rampal, Dr. Priyanka, Dr. Saranjit Kour, S.S Rissam and Sajid Bhai (expert from Ahmedabad).
