| Horticulture department organises awareness camp | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: Department of horticulture organized awareness camp for orchardists at Khoon block Majalta under the directions of Chief Horticulture Officer Udhampur Dr. B. V. Gupta wherein more than 100 farmers participated.
Speaking on the occasion District Horticulture Officer Dr. Rajesh Pangotra shared awareness among farmers about the hi-tech cultivation of sub tropical fruit crops grown in and around the area. He also impressed upon farmers to adopt organic farming so as to get better price for their produce in the market.
Horticulture development officer Majalta Dr. Amit Saraf also awared farmers about different schemes being implemented by the department and how the farming community can be benefitted through these schemes and thereby enhancing their income manifold times .The programme was greatly appreciated by the people of the area and demanded more such camps to be organized in the entire block on village wise basis. Later in the camp the fruit plants were distributed amongst the farmers free of cost. |
