Inter District Division Level Tennis Ball Cricket tournament concludes

KATHUA, Sept 19: The Inter District Division Level tournament of Tennis Ball Cricket organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports concluded with the competitions for under 19 years Girls here at Sports Stadium. A total of 39 players of three districts viz Kathua, Samba, Jammu participated for the competition.
District Kathua lifted the trophy of under 19 years girls by defeating district Jammu in final match.
In final match, Jammu opted to bat by winning the toss. Jammu while batting first collected 110 runs in prescribe 12 overs by losing 2 wickets. Nancy of Jammu made 33 runs off 35 balls and Kajal also added 43 runs off 35 balls. Sandhya of Kathua clinched 1 wicket in 3 overs by giving 27 runs.
Kathua achieved the target easily with the loss of 1 wicket in 10th over.
Sandhya collected 45 runs of 34 balls with 3 boundaries and 2 sixes and Janvi added 35 runs 25 balls with 2 boundaries and 1 six. Kathua won the final by 9 wickets.
Earlier, District Kathua outplayed Samba wherein Samba opted to field and Kathua made 81 runs in 12 overs by losing 6 wickets. Samba could not achieve the target and its entire innings folded at 69 runs. Hence Kathua won by 12 runs.
