NMC demands implementation of 7th PC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 19: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has brought home the point that recommendations of Ashok Lavasa report constituted in the wake the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission by the central Govt. of removal of pay anomalies in pay structure of lower class cadre of both centre and state governments have not been given any effect till today. "This report has already been submitted to the union Finance Minister's by the committee for his approval, an year ago, the issue may be a major issue in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections." Shastri said this while addressing NMC workers meet here. Shastri added that govt. employees and pensioners constitute a sizable voter constituency and this constituency can be a determining factor in the electoral considerations. Ignoring such a vibrant and decisive constituency will surely dent the prospect of political parties. Lavasa Committee in its report had proposed a minimum scale of Rs.21,000/- instead of Rs. 18000/- presently as the initial scale of pay in govt. services. Shastri further expressed the concern and hoped that Prime Minister's and Union Finance Minister's will definitely take some action before presenting union govt. final budget. Shastri also appealed to governor to issue clear cut directions to the concerned to release the 7th pay commission arrears in one go to all age of group of pensioners who are facing financial problems due to rising prices and inflation. |
