Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 20: As a part of world heritage week celebration INTACH Jammu Chapter in collaboration with Food Craft Institute (FCI), Nagrota, Jammu organized a workshop on ethnic foods of Jammu (intangible heritage). Various delicious ethnic cuisines like Ambal, Maa Da Madra, Khatte Rajma, Chana Dal, Methi Rice and Plain Rice were prepared by the trainees of the institute which were displayed for the visiting guest and students of Home Science Department, Government College for Women, Parade. Jyoti Bhatti, Principal of FCI, Jammu while welcoming the guests and students explained the importance of World Heritage Week and ethnic foods of Jammu. Veenakshi Koul GM JKTDC briefed the participant about the importance of ethnic cuisine in Tourism & Hospitality Sector. SM Sahni, Convenor INTACH, Jammu Chapter explained the various elements of ethnic food of Jammu with vast variety after every 40 kms. Babila Rakwal Director Floriculture was the chief guest on the occasion and she appreciated the efforts of INTACH and FCI Nagrota for reviving the ethnic food habits among the new generation which is shifting to fast food culture. |
