| Encroachment continues on custodian land, authorities keep mum | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Nov 27: Encroachment continues on custodian land in Samba as the department watches helplessly.
According to the sources, encroachment continues on custodian land for the last many years but the department has not taken any action.
The people continue constructing shops and houses on the said land in border area and Nud area without any fear. Not only this, some outsiders have also constructed houses on state land in border areas of samba. Although the Deputy Custodian officer office also located in Tehsil office samba but the officer and inspector support the encroachers so they continue construction on said land.
A resident of a border village in Samaba said that the boundary of ten shops has been constructed on custodian land in Kalibari area of Samba but the department has not moved.
There have been instances, when the officers from the department have reached the spot and seized construction material, locals said adding the same is returned after a few days. People have sought intervention of the higher authorities. |
