Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 27: A programme on patriotic songs competition was held here today by Rajya Sainik Board, Jammu, and Kashmir in coordination with Director School Education (Jammu) and J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. Around 1250 schools with both private and government school with 2.5 lakhs students prepared for the selection of six teams for the final of Patriotic song competition. On Tuesday 13 schools from 10 districts of Jammu after qualifying semifinals showcased their talent on different patriotic songs. The Sainik Welfare Department chalked out programmes involving different departments, NGO's and citizens to provide them with opportunity closely with armed forces and participate in activities regarding Patriotic themes. The programme began with the solo performance of Sunil Sharma. The solo programme was followed by the 13 schools across Jammu division. Seven schools were from Jammu, two schools from Kathua, two schools from Udhampur, one school from Poonch, Reasi, and Kishtwar. School children's sang songs from multiple languages. Some children's sang a beautiful Dogri song, some enthralled with Gujri while winning team performed on three different regional patriotic songs. Moreover, the children were dressed differently. Some children chose Dogri Turban, while some wore White Khan dress, while some children's performed in school uniform giving a notion that we are one. We believe in patriotism. There is no Hindu, no Muslim, no Sikh or no Christian. We all are Indians. The first position with the prize money of Rs. 15000 was awarded to Maharaja Hari Singh School, Nagbani, the second position with the prize with the prize money of Rs. 12000 was awarded to City Boys High School, Udhampur. The third position with the prize money of Rs. 8000 was awarded to Dewan Badrinath Vidya Mandir Amarvilla, Jammu. Schools falling in position from four to six were awarded the prize money of Rs. 4000. And schools from seventh to a 13th position were awarded prize money of 3000 rupees. The event was judged by accomplished music personalities under the arrangement of J&K Academy of Arts, Culture, and Language. |
