DB directs State to make alternative land available | PIL regarding International Cricket Stadium in Jammu | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 13: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Advocate Deewakar Sharma seeking direction to JKCA to immediately start the construction of International Stadium at Bajalta Jammu soon after the release of already sanctioned amount of Rs.100.00 Crores, a Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta directed to place possible alternative land(s) and location(s) for the purpose of establishment of a Cricket Stadium which is subject matter of PIL within one week from today. When the PIL Came-up for hearing, Division Bench observed that Senior Counsel has received report of the Architect submitted by BCCI regarding unsuitability of the land for the purpose of establishment of a Cricket Stadium. He prays for a short adjournment to place the same on record. DB observed that Sr. AAG S.S Nanda, is unable to give us compliance of the directions made by us in paragraph No. 3 of the order dated 14th November, 2018. He prays for one week's time to place the compliance thereof before us. DB directed respondents to examine the issue and place possible alternative land(s) and location(s) for the purpose of establishment of a Cricket Stadium which is subject matter of PIL within one week from today. DB further directed that respondents may explore the possibility of making multiple suggestions so that the same can be examined by the cricket experts. |
