Jammu, Dec 23: One-week Faculty Development Program (FDP), organised by the School of Mechanical Engineering and sponsored by TEQIP-III on "Best Manufacturing Practices in Industries" concluded at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. Wherein Taranveer Singh Gujral from TVS Filter Industries graced the occasion as the chief guest during the valedictory ceremony and Mr Gujral spoke at length on the various challenges in the industrial sector and highlighted the benefits of industry-academia collaboration. The program, jointly organized in collaboration with JNTU, Hyderabad, was attended by more than 30 participants from various academic institutes throughout India as well as from the members from the industry. The program was coordinated by Dr Balbir Singh (Assoc. Prof., SME) and Dr. Sanjay Mohan Sharma (Asst. Prof., SME). The invited speakers from various institutes spoke on various aspects of quality and disseminated their experiences and knowledge about various quality tools and good practices in industries. Eminent speakers who addressed during the event were Ms Neha Kumari (BIS Jammu); Prof. Anish Sachdeva from NIT Jalandhar; and Taranveer Singh Gujral. Dr. R. K. Mishra, Head SME, SMVDU, was also present during the ceremony. The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Balbir Singh to all the speakers, participants and the university administration, particularly Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, for his constant support and motivation. |
