Jammu, Dec 23: The 129th Birth Anniversary Of late Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan one of the architects of J&K's accession with India, was today celebrated with solemnity at Mehar Chand Park, Gandhi Nagar. Mehr Chand Mahajan was the third Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India. Prior to that he was the Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir during the reign of Maharaja Hari Singh and played a key role in the accession of J&K with India.
After paying floral tributes at the statue of Mehar Chand Mahajan at the Park a Pooja Ceremony and havan was organised by the Mahajan Sabha Gandhinagar in his memory. Among those present on the occasion included Jugal Mahajan, Jagdish Vaid, PC Gupta, N.K Gupta, Ravi Rohmetra, Ramesh Rohmetra, Dr. RK Gupta, Raman Mahajan. Sweets were distributed on the occasion. |
