Kashmiri Pandit Sabha accuses PDP of sabotaging demands of KPs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 23: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha has taken strong exception to the statement issued by the PDP political affairs committee that its alliance partner was solely responsible for the non implementation of the agenda of alliance. A spokesman of the Sabha said that while the Sabha does not want to comment about other components of the AOA it certainly believes that the issues concerning the welfare of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits including its return and rehabilitation with full sense of security and safety, honour and dignity were put on the backburner by the PDP led govt. "There was no effort on the part of the state govt to engage with the community leadership to evolve a consensus on this vital issue which is core to it's very survival and identity in spite of repeated requests from time to time. On the contrary even the proposal mooted by the GOI although without taking the community into confidence of establishing two composite settlements in the valley was got scuttled either by design or due to the lack of foresight on the part of the ex CM by clubbing it with the creation of sainik colonies which gave an opportunity to the separatists and anti-nationals in the valley to raise a hue and cry," said the spokesman. The spokesman said that other CBM which would have gone a long way in creating a conducive environment for return would have been the passage of the temples and shrines bill which was practically converted into a political football with one political party blaming the other for its non passage and the CM conveniently choosing to wash of her hands. Another vital issue of implementation of the employment component of the PM package was also messed up again either deliberately or foolishly by issuing the controversial SRO 425 when the govt could have easily accommodated the KP aspirants based in the valley by issuing their orders from the main district vacancies. This has resulted in undue and avoidable hardship to the large number of aspirants selected by the SSRB way back in June 2018 whose orders could not be issued due to a court stay. The Sabha has appealed the Governor to expedite the resolution of all these issues so that the immediate concerns of the community are addressed. |
