Jammu, Jan 8: The alert troops of CRPF deployed at Jammu airport averted a major fire incident on the intervening night of January 7 and 8.
On the intervening night of January 7 and 8, an electric cable at petrol pump adjacent to airport caught fire. In no time, it converted into flames and area was engulfed in smoke. The petrol pump staff present there tried to douse the fire but in vain.
CRPF troops immediately called fire tender and simultaneously tried to douse the fire with the resources available. The alertness of troops averted the spreading of fire as generator set and other inflammable material was also lying near the spot. |
