AAP slams opposition of three Regional Councils | | | Early times Report Jammu, Jan 8: Taking strong exception to the statement of former Union Minister, published in a section of press with the caption " Regional Autonomy can't be fruitful without delimitation", the Aam Aadmi Party-J&K in a statement issued here has slammed the statement and said that such like forces as that of Chaman Lal Gupta, want to put the horses behind the cart ignoring the vast ramifications of all round development with equitable allotment of funds to be utilized by the public representatives, duly elected by the masses in a democratic manner without prejudice to the caste, creed and colour which has never happened in the past 70 years. The AAP released questioned Prof. Gupta as to why BJP Legislators, must probably 7 in number, remained as mute spectator when amendment No. 29 to the J&K constitution was made in the state constitution in 2002 providing for ban on increase or decrease of Assembly Constituencies not only up to 2026 but beyond census 2031. The AAP release further reminded that BJP leaders of the time were simply looking for & demanding wine shop Licenses & other favour from the government at the cost of interests of common masses as alleged by former CM Farooq Abdullah some time back. Why BJP did not raised the De-limitation issue lately when they were in coalition with PDP in view of Art.370 & a clear provision in the "Peoples Representation Act" and constitution of India providing for mandatory delimitation in after every Century-i.e in 2000 AD. |
