Early Times Report jammu, Jan 8: A week long orientation programme for newly recruited forest guards concluded. A total of 76 Forest guards from various divisions of East Circle were given orientation on various aspect of the working of Forest Department which includes basic technical and working knowledge on Forest Protection, regeneration activities, demarcation, wildlife conservation etc at Forest Information Centre Vikram Chowk Jammu. During the One Week Orientation Programme, newly appointed Forest guards were trained by resource persons from Forest Department of territorial and allied wings and NGOs in forest protection, regeneration, wildlife protection, demarcation, laws rule and other procedures governing the working of department and also given field exposure by organizing field visits to nurseries, plantation closures, check posts, Manda Zoo etc. Addl. Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K Sarvesh Rai, IFS while addressing the participants during valedictory function emphasized that forest guards are the backbone of the Forest Department and proper training is must for increasing their efficiency and contribution to the department. |
