Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 8: The government has granted sanction to prosecute four persons for the commission of offence under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, nearly six months after they were arrested in Sopore. They accused were working as OGW's of JeM outfit and were roaming in the area to lob the grenade on the Police and Security forces with the intention to kill, the government underlined while quoting a report by police. According to a notification issued in this regard, on 26 June last year, Police Station Sopore apprehended four persons namely Muhammad Ayoub Malla son of Ghulam Hassan Malla of Malmanapora (driver); Fayaz Ahmad War son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din War, Javid Ahmad War son of Abdul Rehman War of Warpora and Maqsood Ahmad War son of Muhammad Yousuf War of Dachinpara. "On search, arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession," police said, adding, "All the accused are working as OGW's of JeM outfit and were roaming in the area to lob the grenade on the Police/SFs with the intention to kill." A case FIR No. 174/2018 U/S 7/25 I.A. Act, 13 ULA(P) was registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation initiated. Besides, police said, statements of material witnesses were recorded u/s 164-A Cr.Pc. The investigation conducted has revealed that the accused persons are OGWs of the unlawful organization and were hell-bent to disturb the peace and tranquility of the State and secede the State of J&K from India by committing unlawful activities, police said further. After perusing the case diaries, the government granted sanction to prosecute them. |
