FD official `takes' money for posting of Inspectors, SIs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 17: An official in Finance Department has been allegedly taking bribe from the newly selected Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors for allotment of department of their choice. Sources told Early Times that the after clearance of selection list of 209 posts of Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors of the Finance Department, the process of their postings has been initiated by the department but an official in connivance with other has been contacting telephonically to the selected candidates for the allotment of department. "The Government had advertised the posts for Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors in Sale Tax Department and Excise Department and among these both departments, the Excise Department is considered the most attractive and lucrative department and everybody try to go for this department but some officials in the FD in secretariat has been the benefit of this process and contacting the candidates and asking them to meet for allotment of the Department," they said. They further said that the allotment of departments is being done by the lower rung officials and subsequently the list is being compiled but they have been calling the selected candidates for including their names in list of Excise Department. "The merit of candidates as per selection list is being ignored and the allotment is being done in lieu of monetary consideration" they said. Pertinently, already the selection list of Inspectors and Sub Inspectors could not be cleared due to multiple litigations. The select list which was announced by JKSSB including 42 posts of Inspectors, 167 posts of Sub-Inspectors. |
