| NSS Unit, SMVDU Temporary deployment at SMVD Shrine Board | | |

Jammu, Jan 17: The NSS unit of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) participated in a three-day Crowd Management Program at the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi.
A Team of more than 10 NSS volunteers were temporary deployed to ensure hassle free pilgrimage and to handle the crowd of devotees. The SMVDU students under its University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative offered voluntary services in crowd management, frisking, announcement and facilitation at help desk. The SMVD Shrine board provided temporary identity cards to students for seamless movement along with boarding and lodging facilities to the deployed NSS volunteers.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Arvind Karwani, KAS (Dy. Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB) and Sumanta S. Sharma (Faculty Coordinator, NSS Unit, SMVDU). Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU appreciated the efforts made by the university students and faculty member and hoped that SMVDU would participate in various USR initiatives with an aim to nurturing socially responsible global citizens. |
