KATRA, Jan 18: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing (SMVDCoN), Kakryal, organised its annual prize distribution function at the Spiritual Growth Centre at Katra. Maj. Gen. S. K. Sharma (Retd), Member Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Body of the College of Nursing, was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He gave away prizes and mementos to the students of the SMVDCoN who have excelled in the various co-curricular activities during the past one year. The prizes were given for their laudable performance in the various events which include poster presentation, quiz competition, essay writing, collage making, face painting, poem writing, mime and cultural activities. Speaking on the occasion, Maj. Gen. S. K. Sharma (Retd) congratulated the prize winning students, adding that alongside academics, the sports and other co-curricular activities go a long way in all round personality development of the students. Among those present on the occasion were Dr. V. Verma, Dean, SMVDU; Dr. (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Administrator of the SMVDCoN; Dr. J. P. Singh, Senior Consultant, Neuro Surgery, SMVDNSH; and Dr. Shailla Cannie, Principal of the College of Nursing, the members of the Governing Body of the College of Nursing; besides Dr. A. K. Sharma, Director, Medical Services, SMVDSB; faculty, staff and students of the SMVDCoN as well as 40 students from Ladakh who are studying in the various educational institutions in Jammu. Earlier, the students of the SMVDCoN presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly appreciated by the audience. |
