Cops mismanage traffic near bus stand Mendhar | | | MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Jan 21: People of Mendhar have alleged that the traffic police mismanage traffic near bus stand in Mendhar. They have been accused of giving passage to influential and rarely make way for essential service vehicles. Locals alleged that first priority is given to ambulance but cops on duty near bus stand do not care for that. They stop the ambulance and other locals traffic and allow that vehicle of a self style VC of a private university namely Shahzad Malik who resides in nearby locality Mushtaq Nagar they said adding he is given a VIP treatment which an ambulance carrying a patient in critical condition is not allowed to move was an act of high handed ness on the part of cops they added. They even do not allow the army convey or Army officers who have to reach on their units near LOC are too halted just to give a safe passage to influential VC of a private university. Why do cops favour him and avoid the traffic rules for him they raised question and expressed their anguish over such partiality. While talking to SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral told Early Times that he will look into the matter and imitate action against the erring cops on duty there. Meanwhile Kissan Mazdor Union president Majid Khan boby urged the authorities to direct the traffic cops on duty near Bus stand to maintain traffic decorum and do not avoid the rules VC of a private university is not a VIP and an ambulance carrying patients should not be stopped while giving him a sage passage during traffic jams he added. |
