Affix seal, signatures on patient referrals: Health department tells doctors | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Jan 21: In order to prevent Lalded Hospital like humiliation wherein an expecting mother was forced to deliver in open after she was referred to this prime maternity hospital by the doctors from Kupwara District, the government of Jammu and Kashmir today issued the advisory to the doctors to affix seal and signatures on patients' referrals and prescriptions. Vide Circular No. 01-HME of 2019 Dated 21-1-2019, the copy of which is available with ET, Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Department Atal Dulloo issued an advisory to all the doctors of Jammu and Kashmir regarding "Affixing of Seal & Signatures". "All the Heads of Healthcare Institutions working under the Administrative Control of Health & Medical Education Department are advised that all the doctors working in various institutions shall inscribe their seal and signature along with their qualification and registration number on all documents signed by them which may include prescriptions, investigations, referrals, to tertiary care intuitions, certification of medical bills, medico legal cases and other documents, where their signature is to be assigned' read the circular signed by Mohammad Rafiq, Director Finance HME J&K on behalf of Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education. The circular further stated that "These instructions are for strict and immediate implementation-Any deviation in this regard shall be viewed seriously. |
