Jan concerned over plight of people in snow bound areas | | | Early Times Report POONCH, Feb 7: National Conference has expressed strong concern over the plight of masses living in snow bound areas of Poonch asking administration to come up for their immediate help. A team of National Conference headed by provincial president of youth wing, Ajaz Jan visited several snow bound villages of Mandi tehsil on Thursday. In his statement, Ajaz Jan said that due to ongoing strike of National Health Mission employees, the healthcare system has come to a standstill with primary health centres of Loran and Saujiyan wearing deserted look and work almost coming to a standstill. He said that health department should arrange alternate staff for both these hospitals located in areas which are cut off from district headquarter from last 24 hours. He also said that district administration should immediately depute field machinery to conduct loss assessment of poor villagers and highlighted damage to the house of one Javaid Bhatt from Poonch Saujiyan and to the cattle shed of a family in Mandi wherein three cattle died. He also said that snow clearance operations should be expedite alleging Border Roads Organization (BRO GREFF) for not carrying out snow clearance operation on Saujiyan road at adequate pace. He also said that entire Saujiyan and Loran areas are under power crisis and steps should be taken to ensure restoration of power supply at the earliest. Later, team of National Conference also visited the house and expressed sympathies with the family of deceased Harbans Singh resident of Mandi who died due to illness. |
