Drug peddler held with 10 gram heroin | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 8: Continuing its war on drugs offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Udhampur police today claimed to have recovered 10 grams of contraband substance (chitta) from one narcotic smuggler at Omara Morh, Udhampur. Rajiv Pandey-Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur said that based on reliable information, a party of Udhampur police station led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib-SHO Udhampur under the supervision of Zahid Saif Wani-DySP Hqrs. Udhampur raised a surprise naka near Omara Morh, Udhampur for checking of vehicles. "During naka checking, police party caught one suspected person at naka point who tried to escape from the police party", said SSP adding that however the said person was taken into custody and during his personal search, police team succeeded in recovery of 10 grams of contraband substance (chitta) from his possession. Police arrested the accused who has been identified as Razaq Ahmed alias Shama of Krimchi, Udhampur while the narcotics recovered from his possession was seized. In this connection, a case under FIR no. 43/2019 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Udhampur police station and further investigation of the case is going on. |
