Departments related to Industrial Sector of J&K, whereas the Jammu Chamber of Commerce is being represented by the Trade Associations without any representation of Industrial Associations of Jammu province. It is worthwhile to mention here that the Industrial Sector of J&K is surviving only due to Toll Tax Exemption granted by the Govt. since last so many years keeping in mind to meet the stiff competition by Industrial Units from outside the State in respect of Goods being manufactured by the Industrial Units of the State and at present around four Lakhs people of the State earning their lively hood as employed Directly or Indirectly by the Industrial Sector which is equal to the State Govt. Employment. It has been brought to our notice that Govt. is in the process of constituting a Committee to resolve the Toll Tax for which w e request the Governor Satya Pal Malik for the inclusion of Federation of Industries, Jammu as one of the Members in the said committee. |
