JAMMU, Feb 11: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jammu University (JU) unit, has demanded fellowship for all non-JRF scholars (both M Phil and Ph D). Addressing a press conference here today, by ABVP president JU, Ravail Parihar, along with the scholars of the various departments of the campus said that we had a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor JU, Prof Manoj Dhar, in which they demanded fellowship for all non-JRF scholars adding that the VC had assured that he will take into consideration these issues and make a solution till mid-November of last year but still there has been no decision taken by the University administration. He said that within next ten days if the issue is not resolved then the scholars are going to go on strike because on one side the VC himself talks about the quality education on one hand and on the other hand they are not giving any provision of fellowship for research scholars, this is somewhere a hurdle for the quality research, and without the provision of fellowship it is not possible for every research scholar to conduct his/her research. He said that the state govrnment as well as the UGC should make provision of fellowship for all non-JRF research scholars. He further said that as a research scholar we request the Chancellor of the University, Satya Pal Malik to take this reasonable issue into his consideration as soon as possible, so that the research scholars may conduct a qualitative research, which is most important for the growth and development of every corner of the society. |
