Jammu, Feb 11: The State Forest Research Institute (SFRI), J&K, Jammu in collaboration with District jail Amphala organized a plantation cum biodiversity program under Forest management and Biodiversity conservation awareness on 11th Feb 2019. On the occasion some inmates shared their artistic talent reflecting connectivity to nature conservation & worship. Dinesh Sharma, Supdt. of Police while extending welcome to SFRI officers shared that jail inmates have exposure to such activities, some have paintings on flowers, trees, birds, animals, some are poets, one inmate has compiled poetry collection based on forest wilderness which is ready for publication. He further briefed about various activities undergoing in the District Jail and highlighted significance of Indian plants linked to culture and Indian system of medicine. Jail inmates expressed their views on plants and shared inputs on significance of plants, eco-friendly product innovations carried out under the supervision of professional guides. |
