| DB issues directives in PIL regarding child abuse | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Advocate Shivan Mahajan against child abuse, a Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi with Adv Parimoksh Seth for the PIL observed that an adjournment is requested by D.C.Raina, Advocate General, Ravinder Gupta, learned AAG and Vishal Bharti, learned Dy. AG to place the complete picture with regard to the issues pressed by the petitioner, as noted by us in our previous orders with regard to creation of the department for the affairs of children as well as with regard to the position with regard to the State Commission for protection of children's right. DB further observed that one of the main issues which have been raised in this petition is regarding the school children being subjected to sexual violence and a report shall be submitted by the Member-Secretary, J&K State Legal Services Authority with regard to the in program which was to be undertaken the Districts of the State of J&K for educating the children regarding sexual violence, culpability of young offenders as also issues relating to the cyber offence. |
