IIM celebrates "Mother language day" | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu celebrated International Mother language day today. The entire IIM Jammu fraternity united to celebrate the spirit of unity in diversity. All Indian states were represented in the program wherein students expressed their views on patriotism in their mother tongue. The central point of the celebration was to showcase the spirit of unity in the campus. During the two years program they learn not only about the intricacies of management but also learn to appreciate other cultures thus becoming more empathetic towards emotions of other people. The modern day workplace is a complex culmination of individuals with various idiosyncrasies, to work as a team we require sensitivity and IIM Jammu is a fore runner in inculcating this spirit in the leaders of tomorrow. Speaking about the program Prof. Tinu Jain, Chairman Student Affairs said,"It was great to see students embracing the feeling of oneness. Although students spoke 22 different languages their thought process remained united. This is one of the prime reasons central educational institutes like IIM Jammu have been established for." |
