Cong pays tributes to CRPF martyrs, holds prayer meet | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 21: To pay heartiest tributes to martyrs of Pulwarna terror attack, Congress organized prayer meet here today at Bikram Chowk. A large number of Congress workers led by party leader Varun Magotra gathered at Bikram Chowk and paid floral tributes to the martyred CRPF personnel who laid down their lives for the safety and security of the nation while fighting with the cruel hands of terrorism in the state. The Congressmen prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families. The party activists also lit candles as a part of the homage to the brave hearts. While speaking on the occasion, Varun Magotra expressed concern over the situation that has arisen in the state following the Pulwama terror attack. He said some anti-social elements during bandh in Jammu created an atmosphere of communal tension which should condemnable. He said that the administration should identify the people behind such nefarious designs and must be booked under PSA so that such type of incidents may not occur in future. A two minutes silence was also observed in respect of martyrs. Senior Congress leader Vinod Sharma, Suresh Dogra (Chairman OBC Cell), Narinder Sharma (Secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee, Raj Kumar Mehra and Lalita Sharma (ex-Coouncillor) were part of the prayer meet. |
