AICRP organizes training programme on production, productivity | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 28: A two days training programme entitled "Recent advances in management of rapeseed mustard for higher production and productivity in Jammu region" was organized by the AICRP (Rapeseed Mustard), Chatha centre of SKUAST-Jammu for extension personnel of Department of Agriculture. The training was sponsored by DAC&FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and funded by Directorate of Rapeseed Mustard Research, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Bharatpur, Sewar, Rajasthan. The training was attended by 20 officers/officials of the Department of Agriculture and other line departments besides other technocrats of the university. The Valedictory function was presided by Dr. J.P. Sharma, Director Research of the university along with faculty members of Division of PBG. The chief guest highlighted the fact that Rapeseed Mustard crops i.e. Toria, Gobhi Sarson and Indian mustard are most profitable rabi season crops for diversification under changing climate scenario and eulogized the importance of organization of the training in achieving increased the production and productivity of Jammu division in particular and state in general. He hoped that the knowledge gained by the trainees will be used in the farmers' field and the latest technologies will reach the farmers field at the earliest to boost the oilseed acreage as well as productivity in the Jammu division in particular and state in general. |
