| Free eye check-up camp at Kathua | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Mar 10: Bharat Vikas Parishad Kathua Unit in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Bank and Medical Health Department Kathua organised a free eye check-up camp at Dhorsi, Forelane (Bakhta) in loving memory of P.C Gupta Ex. President, BVP Kathua. Team of Doctors under the supervision of Babita Bhagat Senior Ophthalmic Technician from District Hospital Kathua examined around 250 patients from the near-by villages. Sarpanch Panchayat Forelane West (B) Rajinder Thakur and Pinky Devi, Sarpanch Panchayat Forelane West (A) along with their Panchs had put their untried efforts in order to make the camp a grand gala success. Organisers ensured that free spectacles will be provided to all the patients. The organizers also distributed free medicines to the patients in the camp. GS Katal, President BVP Kathua Unit mentioned that such initiatives of Bharat Vikas Parishad are helpful for people from the remote villages who cannot afford expensive procedures and medicines. He also thanked the Panchayats, Health Department and J&K Bank for their assistance in organising the free eye check-up camp. An awareness mela on this occasion was also organised by the Zonal/Cluster Office J&K Bank. Present among others were Prof. Ram Murti Sharma - Patron, Ashok Gupta- General Secretary, Jai Gopal Sharma, Thuru Ram Mahajan, K.K Pargal, Dr. Y.N Dogra, Shiv Prasad Sharma, Vidhya Rattan Sharma, Hemraj, Ditt Kumar Sharma, Vishal Gupta, Dewan Singh and number of prominent citizens of the locality. |
