Pulse polio programme launched at Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 10: A function was held at Community Health Centre, Kandi to initiate the pulse polio programme which was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kotranka Ved Parkash. Giving details on this programme Block Medical Officer, Kotranka Dr. Iqbal Malik said that a total 124 polio booths and 496 employees including volunteers, members of NGOs, Govt. teachers, AWW and ASHAs were employed to cover this huge task in Kotranka and Budhal. BMO said that this is a three-day programme where for the first day the polio vaccination will be done from the booths and then for the next two days the teams will visit each and every house even in the most far-flung area to vaccinate the children. Chief Medical Officer Rajouri Dr. Sunil Sharma issued instructions to extend the programme in case the target is not achieved, he added Prominent citizens sh. Mukhtar Amhed, Munir Mirza, Nesami, Wajid Ayoub Phalwan and ASHAs were also present on this occasion. On the said programme, Mohd Ayoub Lone, Community Health Officer, CHC Kandi also spoke and delivered the vote of thanks. |
