| "Sant Sameelan" organized to commemorate Prakash Divas of Guru Ravidass | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 10: In order to commemorate 642nd Prakash Divas of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidass ji Maharaj a "Vishal Sant Sameelan" was organized by Shri Guru Ravidass Satsang Society at its headquarter Sukh Sagar Bhawan Sikenderpur Kothey, Bishnah under the aegis of Dera Swami Jagat Giri Trust Pathankot. Many saints joined the sameelan to have socio-religious discourse on the life & teachings of great saint Shri Guru Ravidass ji Maharaj. A larger number of members of Dalit Samaj especially Ravidassias from all walks of life attended this one day long Sant Sameelan.
Swami Gurdeep Giri ji Maharaj while delivering socio-religious sermons said that Guru Ravidass ji Maharaj had a vision of making this great nation a "Begumpura" based on humanist principles of liberty, equality and universal brotherhood. Swami ji further elaborated that there are two kinds of Begumpuras, one is Adhayatmik meaning to leave bad evils, unscientific rituals and worship only the omnipresent God; another one is Samajik wherein every citizen of the country should get equal rights by virtue of good education, livelihood and all should live with harmony irrespective of caste, creed, religion etc. He said that good education to every member of the society not only raises standards of the family but of the nation as a whole and with good quality education only our country can get the status of developed nation. Swami ji blessed the sangat with good health and advised the sangat to adopt the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidass ji Maharaj in day today practice and prepare the next generation in a way that they should not involve in bad habits of intoxication, robbery, etc. |
