ABVP Jammu Mahanagar observes International Women's Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 10: On the occasion of 107th international women's day, a programme was held by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Shree Gita Mandir Samriti Bhawan, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. The theme of the program was "Lioness". The Chief guest of the programme was Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, University of Jammu, the guest of Honour was Aasha Rani Gupta, Mother of Martyr Capt. Tushar Mahajan, Special Guest was Poonam Slathia, Karate Coach, Karate Association of India (KAI), Organizational Speaker was Varsha Jandiyal, State Girls Incharge, ABVP J&K. The stage was also shared by ABVP Jammu Mahanagar President Dr AP Singh and Mahanagar Secretary Kunal Sadotra. The programme started with traditional Saraswati Vandana followed by a series of plays and fillers performed by Prashant and his team. These fillers and plays were based on Women Empowerment, Women Rights and Women Respect. Neeraj and Dheeraj, the students of GGM Science College sung a Dogri song. Addressing the gathering, Dr Meenakshi Keelam appreciated the girls of various schools and colleges who had participated in the Mission Sahasi programme of ABVP in which they learned the techniques of Self Defence. Speaking on the occasion Varsha Jandial said that the whole world is looking towards women to eradicate all the existing evils in the society. Women need to lead every single sphere of the society to maintain a healthy society. On the occasion, hundreds of students were provided with certificate of appreciation who had participated in Mission Sahasi, Sunil Padha Memorial Gyan Pratiyogita, Speech Competition and Painting Competition. |
