Jammu, Mar 14: R.S. Pura Police today arrested four drug peddlers in two separate incidents and recovered 76 kgs of poppy straw from their possession.
While conducting routine checking during two separate joint nakas laid at Villages Tanda and Choga on the eve of forthcoming Loksabha Elections, two vehicles bearing Registration Nos. JK02BQ/2901 (Auto Load Carrier) and PB18F/4477 (Santro Car) were intercepted and during the search, 76 kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from both the vehicles. The arrested persons have been identified as Umer Khan, Shakeel Ahmed, Surinder Singh and Harjit Singh. In this regard, two separate FIRs No.37/2019 U/S 8/15/21/22/25/27-A/29 NPDS Act and FIR No.38/2019 U/S 8/15/21/22/25/27-A/29 NPDS Act stands registered at P/S R.S. Pura and investigation is underway.
The recoveries have been made by the Police parties from P/S R.S. Pura led by Inspector Chanchal Singh, SHO P/S R.S. Pura under the supervision of Shri Sourab Prashar,JKPS, SDPO R.S. Pura. |
