Akhnoor Bridge be named after Sher-e-Duggar, Rohmetra Baradri

All India Rohmetra Mahajan Baradri has demanded that the newly constructed bridge on Chenab River at Akhnoor should be rechristened as Sher-e-Duggar Lala Hans Raj Mahajan Bridge.
The Mahajan Baradri has decided to approach state Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to request them to name the bridge as Lala Hans Raj Bridge who always fought for the down trodden and worked throughout his life for the upliftment of the humanity.
Ravi Malhotra general secretary of the Mahajan Baradi said that Lala Ji was elected unanimously as member of the assembly in July 1936 and during his short life span he founded Dogra Sadar Sabha and Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha. He was instrumental in establishing home for old, blind and orphans, he said and added that it would be a great gesture to the people of the state if the bridge is named after Sher-e- Duggar Lala Hans Raj Mahajan.
