Jammu | Apr 24
Government in State and Centre did nothing over the years for the upliftment of the community, Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) today has appealed to the Prime Minister to settle Kashmiri Pandits in valley.
This demand was made by national vice president of JKVM, Dr R L Bhat, its state president Ashok Kangan and senior functionary, Dr M K Bharat while addressing a press conference here, today.
Bhat said that if Central and State Governments are really sincere towards the return of displaced Pandits then make way of real return of KP in valley.
Maintaining that there is lot of resentment among the displaced community over the Government’s move, Bhat said that right from the time of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from valley till now we are deprived from our rights and those who are responsible of exodus still vigilant in the valley.
Saying that some vested interest are tried to permanent settle KPs in camps, he clarified that shifting of camps to Jagati to some other place will not provide any succor to displaced people but further add to their problems.
He said that such move of government of shifting migrants to camps further divided the Kashmiri migrants into camps and non-camps migrants
He said such move is a part of the gameplan to scuttle the return process of Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland completely. “The bigger township means permanent settlement and we demand it in Kashmir valley where we have roots”, said Dr R L Bhat. Lambasting the Government, he said it did nothing over the years for the upliftment of the community and government was playing tricks and the concern shown by him during his last visit at migrant camp Muthi was nothing except the deception, he added.
He alleged that problems of camp people, non camp people, children, women and aged were all left unheeded and bifurcation of families was stopped though during 17 years of migration had changed the family composition drastically.
Bhat also questioned the working of Inter-ministerial team and challenging the statement of Chief Minister in assembly of giving job of KPs and criticized the State government for not implemented temple bill in recent assembly session.
