| JMA demand early screening of pending files | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 24 Decrying government for avoiding release of relief in form of ration and cash to hundreds of migrants who have left the valley due to threat perception, Joint Migrant Association has demanded early conduction of screening of their pending files. In a meeting organized here on Thursday, President (JMA), Mir Shahbaz stressed upon the government to conduct the screening to files with immediate effect so that hundreds of migrant families could be saved from starvation. " There are more than hundred families whose case are pending for want of screening since last four years but government has been avoiding to provide relief benefits to them on one pretext or the other," he said. He further said that all the aspirants are temporarily residing at various places in Jammu and their plight is miserable, as they have to feed their children without having any source of income. On the occasion they appealed the government to save them from further starvation at this critical period of time. " There are the aspirants who at the risk of their lives played a terrific role in combating militancy along with security forces but if they are denied the relief benefits at this critical time what would be their fate?" he asked. Others present on the occasion included G.M Rather, Rohin, Asha Parveen, Zareena, Shabir Ahmed Bukroo, Mohammed Yaqoob Malik, Rajesh Khurdi, Dilshada, Abdul Hamid , Bashir Ahmed, Inder Raina, Akhtar Afroza and others. |
