| Jammu out of bounds for two day | | PM’s Visit | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 24 As security forces take over at least three districts of the region, the winter capital city Jammu is likely to stay disconnected from rest of the province for at least two days. Prime Minister Manmohan is arriving here tomorrow for two-day state visit and unprecedented security arrangements have been put in place. A heavy contingent of Police and other Central Paramilitary Forces under the supervision of a large number of officers from the civil administration have already been put in place at Akhnoor, Kakriyal and Kishtwar –the three places where the Prime Minister has to visit. Meanwhile, a circular issued by the Traffic Police this morning has put strict restriction on vehicular movement in and around the winter capital city. While no vehicle shall be allowed to ply on the key bridges and interiors of the city, Jammu has been thrown out of bounds for all types of the vehicles coming in from the neighboruing areas. All vehicles coming Pathankote sides or RS Pura side have been asked to terminate beyond Satwari as there is no permission to enter the city. Similarly, the vehicles coming from Srinagar, Reasi and Udhampur areas will have to terminate at Nagorta Check Post. The vehicles from Poonch and Rajouri side will not be allowed to ply beyond Bhambla station. Security agencies across the region are put on alert to plug the loopholes and in this regard dog squads have been deployed at the venues where PM is expected to visit. Apart from thorough frisking strict checks of vehicles will be done at the routes leading to the venues to ensure safe visit of Prime Minister to Jammu. During his visit, He is expected to address two public meetings at Akhnoor and Kishwar. He will inaugurate the state's longest 280-meter bridge and the country's first pylon bridge on river Chinab on Friday. The Prime Minister would take part in the convocation of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine University at Panthal in Reasi district. He is scheduled to dedicate to the nation the 390-mega watt Dulhasti hydroelectric power project on 26th of this month. |
