Veteran leader from Samba decides to quit Cong | | | Gurdas Kumar Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, Apr 1: In major setback to State Congress Party, a senior leader from Samba district has decided to quit the party in coming days alleging sheer ignorance by the party high command after giving thirty years to the party. Sources told Early Times that the senior party leader was ignored, sidelined despite having huge experience and public support in Samba District and particularly in Vijaypur Tehsil. He alleged that his hard work for the party was overlooked and was not given party mandate to participate in any Assembly and Lok Sabha election which he deserves being senior in the party. After seeing negligible growth in his political career, he has made up his mind to quit the party. He leveled allegations that outsiders were given preference over local leaders who have strong bonding with common masses and always ready to help the people to redress their common issues of their areas, they said further adding that he remained loyal towards the party since decades and worked day out and night but after getting no importance for the work done for the party, he felt disheartened and decided to quit the party. He had an ability to attract the crowed wherever there was any party's function in the district which clearly speaks his hold in the party, sources said. If sources are to be believed he is in connection with many national parties and is likely to join one of them in coming days which can be a big setback to the Congress in Vijaypur constituency. Already Senior Congress leader and former minister Sham Lal Sharma has quit the party and joined BJP due to feeling of neglect by the party high command and imposition of Kashmiri leaders as party president who have dominated the leaders from Jammu. |
