Jammu, Apr 16: As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of University of Jammu, the Department of Home Science, University of Jammu, organized a health Checkup camp for children of Surbhi Nursery School/Lab and awareness camp for their Parents. Dr. Raj Kamal Gupta, Head Neonatology, Southend, University Hospital, NHS Trust, United Kingdom, conducted the camp, in collaboration with the Health Centre, University of Jammu and CMO, Dr.Bharat Bhushan helped in organization of the camp. Dr.Raj Kamal examined children of the school ,noted down the entire particulars of the children and found deficiencies in dental hygiene, chest infections and found some of them under weight. Necessary medicines were prescribed and parents were given important tips to improve the health of children. He suggested avoidance of junk food, providing of nutritious food and adoption of hygienic practices while feeding them. He also guided the staff of Nursery school regarding their role in managing the Health affairs of children during school hours. Prof. Shashi Manhas, HOD, Home Science, welcomed the noted Neonatologist Dr. Raj Kamal and Dr.Bharat Bhushan for sparing time in such endeavor and urged the parents to follow the advice seriously. The faculty and other staff of the department were also present in the function. |
