| Police destroys poppy cultivation | | |

Poonch, Apr 20: Police claimed to have destroyed illegal cultivation of poppy from a field in village Salwah falling in the jurisdiction of police station Mendhar.
A specific information was received that a person namely Mohd Farooq son of Khadim Hussain caste Sheikh resident of Salwai has cultivated poppy plants in his agricultural land.
On this information, instant case FIR No. 54/2019 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in police station Mendhar and later the illegal cultivation of poppy was destroyed. |
