Voters' meet organized at Voter corner in High Court

Jammu, Apr 24: In view of the upcoming elections of High Court Bar Association, a voters' meet was today organized in which several contesting candidates projected their manifestos and gave replies to queries of voters.
Addressing media persons, the Convener of the Voters Corner H.C. Jalmeria and its Patron A.V. Gupta, Sr Advocate apprised about the concept of the Voters Corner in Bar Elections and about the proceedings of the lawyers meet conducted yesterday in the Lawns of High Court.
The "Voters Corner" established 32 years back by H.C. Jalmeria and A.V. Gupta Sr. Advocate with the concept of making the Election of Bar Association transparent and expenses free besides saving time and energy of the contesting candidates and the lawyer members.
An experiment of inviting all the contesting candidates to the broader meeting of the Voters and hearing them on their respective manifestoes followed by question answers session was made 32 years back when T.S. Thakur who later became Chief Justice of India, contested Election for the post of President of this Bar.
The process of holding such Voters' meet has been carried through in all most all elections of the Bar thereafter. This is a unique but most needed concept which deserves to be adopted in all elections whether for Lok Sabha, State Assemblies or other Democratic Bodies , in this country.
The J&K High Court Bar Association , Jammu is holding its Election for which Polling is fixed on 27-04-2019 . The Voters Corner organized a Mega Voters meet on 23-04-2019 in the Lawn of High Court of Jammu, where all contesting candidates presented their respective Manifestoes.
The proceedings of the Voters Meet were conducted by the Convener of the Voters Corner H.C. Jalmeria and presided over by Sr. Advocate A.V. Gupta. Amrit Sareen , Meharban Singh, Ajay Bakshi were present as members of the Voters Corner Team .
