DC reviews arrangements Shri Amarnathji Yatra

Kathua, May 1: District Development Commiss-ioner, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of district officers and civil society members to discuss the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra. Threa-dbare discussion was held regarding various arrangements for the yatra including accommodation, security, traffic arrangements, water, power, food, hygiene and sanitation etc.
The DDC also emphasized on making adequate arrangements of sanitation, electricity, lodging, parking and other amenities for the Yatirs. He directed the concerned departments to formulate comprehensive plan in advance for providing healthcare, water, electricity and accommodation facilities to the pilgrims during Yatra period.
The meeting was informed that suitable sites would be identified in the district for the lodging of yatris with all necessary facilities of drinking water, electricity, toilet and sanitation in case of Yatra halt. SSP Kathua, Shridhar Patil informed that Army, Paramilitary and Police will be responsible for security related arrangements during the Yatra.
He also said that all the facilities along NH which can be used during Yatra halt should be identified before-hand so that security related concerns should be taken care of.
