| Mendhar subdivision face acute water crisis | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, May 13: The month of Ramadan is under progress but several areas in district Poonch are facing the problem of water shortage. Most of these villages fall under the sub-division Mendhar.
People of Subdivsion are up in arms against the PHE department which has failed to provide them portable drinking water.
Lambasting the lackadaisical approach of the PHE department several prominent people told Early Times that the department was total failure and did nothing to improve the water supply in all three teshsils of Mendhar including Balakote and Mankote . They alleged that the department has failed to replace leaking pipes or carrying out repairs on defunct motors of water pumps at pumping stations. The people are creaving for a single drop of water yet no measures were taken to restore the water supply, they further alleged.
Sources said that subdisvisions including Poonch, Mendhar, Mandi and Surankote were facicng water crisis but PHE department seemingly was ignoring the problem of general public that to when holy month of Ramadan has approached already. |
